Frequently Asked Questions

How far do you travel?

I am based in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire. I am lucky to live in an area with so many amazing local wedding venues nearby such as – Thainstone House Hotel, Meldrum House, Barn at Barra Castle, Pittodrie House Hotel, Logie Country House and Aswanley. However, I am more than happy to travel across Scotland and further afield to be a part of your special day! Mileage/accommodation costs may be applicable depending on location.

What is the maximum number in a wedding party you can accommodate?

This really depends on a few different factors – where your wedding is located, how far I have to travel on the morning of the wedding and your ceremony time. Typically, my maximum numbers for full make-up for adults is six. If you do have a larger bridal party, I can arrange for an extra make-up artist to work alongside me on the day.

When should I book my Make-up Preview?

I normally advise a good couple of months prior to your wedding day. However, some brides prefer to have their bridal preview straight after booking or even closer to their wedding day itself. It is a personal preference and is subject to my availability.

What should I expect at the preview?

A trial with me is always very relaxed, we use this as an opportunity to get to know a bit about each other and chat ALL things wedding related. I get an idea of what your day is going to look like – for example, wedding style, wedding dress, colour schemes etc. Followed by an in-depth chat about your ideal vision for your wedding make-up. We also use this time to discuss the logistics of the day itself so I can start to take some notes about how the wedding morning will pan out.

Feel free to bring along a friend or a family member to the trial. It is always good to get a second opinion from someone who knows you, how you normally wear your make-up and someone whose opinion you trust. I can only accommodate two extra people in the room during your trial, it can be quite overwhelming for the bride having too many opinions and my room can only accommodate a small number at one time.

The trial gives you a chance to test out your make-up longevity, to study the finished look in different lighting/angles and to see how it feels throughout the day.

What can I expect on the day of my wedding?

We will have a chat around the week before the wedding to confirm my arrival time and to ensure there are no outstanding queries about the plan for the wedding morning. On the morning itself, I will arrive at the pre-arranged time, and start setting up my designated area for make-up.

We will start the make-up, at a pre-arranged time and I will work with the hair stylist to ensure that everyone is ready in good time before the ceremony.

After the hair and make-up is complete and whilst the bridal party are getting dressed, I will be on hand to help with any last minute make-up touch ups just before you leave for the ceremony.

Can you stay to do make-up touch up’s after the ceremony?

I most certainly can! If you are worried about crying during the ceremony and keeping your make-up looking perfect for the photographs, I can stay at the venue to be on hand for any last minute wiping away of tears, covering up the red noses and ensure your make-up is looking nice and fresh. This at an additional cost, please enquire for more information.
